Seven months ago I started on a cooking and recipe blog "the recipe", just for fun, for family and friends to download some recipes and get some inspiration to fancy up a weekday dinner in a cheap and easy way. It started out easy, just putting on recipes of the things I would normally make on a weekday, then a few more interesting ones were posted and eventually I even ended up doing a whole series on Asian food, due to my travels to South east assia and all the cooking classes I had followed there and the wonderfull food I had eaten. Many many pictures =]. The Asia series is coming to an end and new ideas are popping up!
I have the luck to have made a good friend, Rene Amelink, Masterchef and Teacher at the Dutch College Hotel and Yogi, who is helping me come up with wonderfull ideas for original recipes and subjects. He has the experience of teaching, cooking, inspiring and has published a cookbook before and teaches about health and diet at his yoga school Urban Yogi, which is the eventual goal of this endeavour. You will soon find articles on Forgotten vegetables, fruits, herbs etc, but also on afrodesiacs, and lovely recipes that will increase the chemical tension between you and your tablepartner.
A seperate part of the website will be didecated to kitchen tips, how to preserve herbs, which utensils might have purposes you haven't thought of yet and how to make some basic ingredients that we are used to buy at the markets or shops yourself.
This whole project is just starting up as we speak so the plans described above will take some time. Since I have my studies, Molecular Cell Biology, my work tutoring and teaching Biochemstry to first and second year students, and the rest of what normal life entails. Cooking is my passion but I am just a student with not too much experience but a real love for good food, wine and good fun. One of the main properties this site will have is thus a forum on which YOU guys might educate me, come up with bright new ideas or post incredible tips!
So to finalize this first little bit of the Kitchen Clash website..
Enjoy and be inspired
